Congratulations Denver Kids Class of 2021!
Last week, we celebrated the Denver Kids Class of 2021 at our very own Senior Celebration! Our Enrichment Student Advisory Council (ESAC) planned and executed the hybrid event with the support of Denver Kids staff liaisons, Doen Lee and Olivia Sutphen.
The students opted for a pre-recorded virtual presentation as well as a small in-person component. The in-person gathering featured a gratitude station, snacks, and a photo booth, which fostered moments of connection between staff, mentors, and students. It was the first time ESAC students met their fellow council members in person, and the event was even more meaningful due to the lack of in-person and social connection throughout the past year. Special thanks to The O'Sullivan Law Firm for sponsoring the event!
Denver Kids would like to congratulate our approximately 110 graduating seniors who have persevered through this challenging year. Our class of 2021 students have been accepted to many schools locally and nationally, from Metropolitan State University, University of Denver, and Western Colorado University, to University of Kansas, Georgetown University, Hartwick College, and Harvard University. We know they will each go on to do incredible things, wherever their personal journeys take them.
“We are so proud of the graduates for their hard work and for accomplishing this milestone,” say Doen and Olivia. “While graduation rates and the schools that students are attending post-graduation provide a snapshot of their past, present, and future, each student's story is unique. We are grateful and humbled that Denver Kids gets to be a part of their story.”
