Last month, 498 members of the Denver Kids community came together in support of Denver Kids 2023 Breakfast: Dream. Believe. Achieve. This year's breakfast shined a spotlight on our brilliant, resilient students and incredible staff, stakeholders, and partners by celebrating achievements and sharing stories.
One program highlight was the inspiring keynote by graduating senior, Xereni, who has participated in Denver Kids since 3rd grade to reach graduation and explore the exciting opportunities her future brings. Denver Kids graduating senior, Rashad, took the stage as the event's emcee, captivating the crowd with his enthusiasm and building anticipation about his college choice. He impressed everyone at the end of the program when he put on a Princeton cap and shared his decision to attend the Ivy League university on a full football and academic scholarship in the fall. Another impactful moment took place when students and their Educational SEL Counselors got on stage and gave heartfelt testimonials about working together. All students and staff who spoke at the Breakfast are testaments to the profound impact they each have on each other's lives.
We are excited to share that we surpassed our goal to inspire 10 donors to commit to our Champions or Investing In Our Future giving circles, which unlocked an additional $10,000 donation, thanks to the generosity of the McAllister/Seibold Giving Fund. Thanks to the event's 46 sponsors, 37 Table Captains, and hundreds of donations, as well as the multi-year giving challenge, we raised more than $260,000 in support of our students and programs!
Thank you to all who made the Denver Kids 2023 Breakfast an unforgettable success. Contributions made at the Breakfast help raise the necessary funds to maintain our programming rooted in academic support, social-emotional tools, and college & career readiness.
