Why invest in Denver Kids?

For 80 years, we’ve proven the efficacy of our program, and continually innovate and improve to meet the evolving needs of our youth.
We use evidence-based programming, research and cutting-edge tools to implement, measure, track and continually improve our approach.
Our program is uniquely designed to holistically support a student—across academic, social-emotional, enrichment and future planning disciplines. One of these areas alone would not have the impact we achieve by addressing all of them in a coordinated approach.
High school dropouts will lose an estimated $1.1 million in lifetime earning potential.

Meet Our Supporters

Mentor

In addition to their professional Denver Kids Advisor, many of our students are paired with a dedicated volunteer mentor. These mentors are caring, consistent, and trustworthy adults who invest in our students' growth. As role models, they help students navigate life, embrace new experiences, and empower them to pursue their dreams—ultimately transforming their futures. Now more than ever, our students need your support.

One on One Mentoring

Meet with your mentee twice a month in person (3-8 hours per month) for a minimum of one year. Suggested outing activities with your mentee may include: spending time at the park, going bowling, visiting a museum, trying new cuisines, chatting, and more!
To get started, apply to become a volunteer mentor. Afterward, you’ll participate in an interview, background check, and a pre-match training session to prepare you for the role.
As a mentor, you’ll be invited to various optional mentor/mentee events, annual mentor-only networking gatherings, and additional training opportunities.
Mentees reside across Metro Denver and are typically middle and high school aged.

Volunteer

Looking to grow your leadership skills? Expand your social circle? Want to make a difference? Join the Denver Kids Young Professionals Council (YPC)! As a YPC member, you’ll link arms with a dynamic group of young professionals interested in making a meaningful impact in our community.

Mission: The Denver Kids Young Professionals Council (YPC) will increase awareness and raise funds for the Denver Kids program, while developing future philanthropic and nonprofit leaders in the greater community.

Goals of the Young Professionals Council:

Engage up-and-coming young professionals in the mission and work of Denver Kids through volunteerism and collaboration.
Raise funds for Denver Kids via fundraising events and community partnerships.
Cultivate future governing board members within Denver Kids or the Community.
Partner with Denver Kids staff and Board in supporting the annual Spring fundraising event.
Support the professional development of council members.

YPC members commit to one year, July-June. YPC membership is open to community members age 21+.

Applications are currently being accepted for our 2026-27 Council, and are due May 30. To view and apply, click here.
